Top Social Apps Performance in the US, Q2 2022

The second quarter of 2022 brought interesting trends for the top social apps in the United States. Sensor Tower data highlights the performance of TikTok, Bigo Live - Live Streaming App, Facebook, Tagged - Meet, Chat & Dating, and Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat.

TikTok saw its weekly revenue peak at $11.1M in early April, followed by a gradual decline, ending the quarter around $8.4M. Weekly downloads experienced fluctuations, reaching a low of approximately 787K in early May but rebounding to around 1.4M by the end of June. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, hovering around 102M throughout the quarter.

Bigo Live - Live Streaming App had a consistent revenue stream, peaking at $2.2M at the end of March and stabilizing around $1.7M towards the end of the quarter. Downloads and active users showed minor fluctuations, with downloads ranging from 95K to 117K and active users remaining steady around 1.1M.

Facebook maintained a strong presence with weekly revenue ranging from $896K to $1.3M. Downloads varied between 491K and 830K. The platform boasted the highest active user base among the apps, consistently staying around 228M users.

Tagged - Meet, Chat & Dating experienced a decline in revenue from $1.7M at the end of March to around $489K by the end of June. Downloads were relatively stable, fluctuating between 37K and 50K. Active users showed a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching 143K.

Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat demonstrated a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at $1.4M in the final week of June. Downloads saw minor variations, maintaining around 37K to 43K. Active users showed a notable increase from 1.2M in early April to 1.4M by the end of June.
